Field Trip Photos

Third in the 2010 – 2011 California History Field Trips : SONOMA – representing the Mexican Period of California’s History and the                   Bear Flag Revolt.

We visited the Sonoma Mission, Barracks, Vallejo’s Home and the Petaluma Adobe where we had the privilege to hear a Living History Presentation!

Fourth and next field trip was our trip to SUTTER’S FORT and OLD SACRAMENTO – We have moved into the time  when California is beginning to be settled. Swiss immigrant, John Sutter was given a Mexican land grant, became a Mexican citizen and then began to build on his dream of an empire between the Sacramento and American Rivers. Old Sacramento was built on the banks of the Sacramento River for ease of commerce and trade with the fort. Here we visited the Huntington & Hopkins Hardware Store, the Wells Fargo Museum, Pony Express statue and the Eagle Theater.
